What is Wrong with this Picture?

Here we have a perfectly healthy, energetic, soccer-ball loving dog. We also have an old soccer ball rescued from the dump. This seems like a recipe for fun, until you consider the gopher hole.

She's gotten pretty good at soccer. When you convince her to let go of the ball (which can be challenging because her teeth are stuck in it) she can push the ball with her nose.

She can dribble with her front paws.

She can keep the ball moving if you ask her enough times.

She can also twist her leg in a gopher hole while on a mad run for a pass, putting her on the bench for at least a week, like happened the other day. We're relieved that her leg seems to be getting better on its own, and she's limping a lot less, so it doesn't seem like a serious tear or fracture. But for now, and until we trap some gophers and fill in these holes, game over.

Glad to hear that she'll be back dribbling her ball soon.
