Home

Our friend Bill just called in to report that he was able to drive up Martin Rd. and our house is still standing! He lives in a different part of Bonny Doon and stayed at his house throughout the fire.

We are so relieved and grateful. Thank you to the firefighters who saved our home.

Up the hill from us Bill was expecting the fire damage would be ugly, but it was still unbelievable to him—like a war zone—bare blackened branches, hot spots flaring up, and a layer of gray ash covering the ground.

It is very sad that that some of our neighbors have lost their houses. Our thoughts are with them.

Thanks to everyone who wrote to us to check in and make sure we were okay, and to all the people who tried to call us and got a busy signal.

  4. This is good, good news! I didn't see this one when I first saw your post (believe it or not I found your blog THROUGH THE KSBW WEBSITE and it took me directly to your earlier post).

Sleep well tonight, and get some surely-much-needed rest. We're very happy your home is safe and will still be sending you best, best wishes.

Thank heavens. I had shivers just now thinking how releived you must be and then feeling sorry for those who were not as lucky.
