Neighbor across the street stays and fights fire

I have no definitive news to report about our house yet. We don't know anything for certain, and are still evacuated. I just read this about our neighbor directly across the street:

Hank Moeller stayed Wednesday night to protect his property off Martin Road where he lives with his wife, two sons and a renter. He and his sons own fire equipment and a pump. They put it to use fighting the blaze alongside firefighters. They managed to sop the fire 25 feet from their home.

Moeller has lived on the property for 50 years and has fire equipment just for such a situation.

"Every summer we expect something like this to happen," he said Thursday.

Wow. If we get through this unscathed, I think we're going to be buying some firefighting equipment.
