Martin Fire

I wanted to let everyone know we're safe. Yes, there's a raging wildfire burning right by our house.

We were evacuated around 4 pm. Got ourselves, the animals, and our cars out safely. We're at Andrew's sister's house right now, and are comfortable here. The goose and duck are spending the night in the back of the truck.

We're keeping our hopes up for a miracle and a house to go home to, and praying all our neighbors made it out okay.

I'll update when I find out more.

    Be safe you guys. I will be thinking of you and praying for rain. Custer County is on fire alert right now, that's where our peace of heaven is. We need to make a trip down to make sure things are all right, and that the weeds and grass are mowed next to the house. It's been a long time since we've gotten rain, just wind.

    Yikes, It's Linda and.... -- yes, I heard. Shocked to say the least. Bruce and I are hoping for the best...please let everybody know what happened overnight -- need an update.

    Thanks for your concern. We didn't sleep very well either.

    We really don't know anything for sure yet, though rumors are that they're gaining control of the fire. We still have no idea about our house.

    We spent the day getting the goose and duck situated in temporary housing in Watsonville.

    I'll let you know as soon as I learn anything more!

    We've been very concerned about you two and I was so, so happy to see your blog and know that the two of you (and your animals) are safe. We're sending the best and strongest wishes possible in your direction in hopes that the fire avoids your house and that you can return to life-as-close-to-usual-as-possible soon.
