Bobcat Sighting

A bobcat strolled by my office window today, pausing by the cars to hunt for gophers. He quickly caught one, and continued on toward the pond. Andrew was working on a gate about 200 yards away. You'll have to excuse me for the subpar photo quality, because they were taken through the window after managing to evict Frieda, domestic cat, from her position gripped onto my lap—grabbing the camera just in time.

  1. Wow, how cool! He doesn't look much bigger than a house cat in those pics! I have a friend who claims he has a house cat that weighs 35 *pounds*. I find this hard to believe, and he has yet to back it up with pictures.

  2. Thanks for the comment Ri! Geez! That's a huge cat if that's true. Hopefully it's all muscle. Yeah, the bobcat was not very big. We were thinking maybe he/she's a young'en.

  3. How cute! He's a good friend if he catches gophers.

  4. I know! I was thrilled about that! Hopefully he'll keep on it. He made it look so easy, like it was a gopher buffet. I'm just a little worried about what would happen if he encountered Mooka or Frieda.
